Coolfinity (Amstelveen, 2016) – Coolfinity has developed a cooling technology for fridges with intermittent power availability in developing countries. It has developed a 600L fridge integrated with thermal battery to withstand power outages of 12 to 20 hours per day. When the power is off the ice bank technology freezes 50 kg water that functions as a cold battery to maintain temperatures of 3 to 6 degrees Celsius and releases cold air gradually and when power is restored, the ice bank immediately recharges. Useful to keep food, beverages and medicines cold at a stable 3 degrees Celsius. Plans to supply their technology to fridge manufacturers.
